International College was founded in 2017 and today combines the best of Uruguayan education with an international outlook. Since 2025, we have been part of Nord Anglia Education (NAE), the world's leading network of premium schools. This connects us with a global community of students, teachers and education specialists spanning Asia, Europe and the Americas.

An Academic Programme Designed For What Comes Next
We follow the Uruguayan curriculum and enrich it with international programmes and best practice from schools around the world, backed by the expertise and global reach of Nord Anglia Education.
Our students take the IGCSE programme in Years 9 and 10 and continue with the IB Diploma Programme in Years 11 and 12, preparing them for university in Uruguay and abroad.
Every classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards and modern workstations, seamlessly integrated into learning. This infrastructure allows us to support each student with technology that encourages participation, collaboration and the development of skills for the future.
Global Opportunities Through Nord Anglia
As part of Nord Anglia Education, our students can take part in unique international experiences such as the Global Games, the Junior Games, and the STEAM and Performing Arts festivals. These events bring together students from Nord Anglia schools worldwide to compete, collaborate, create and learn together.
In addition, our students have access to Global Campus, Nord Anglia's exclusive online learning platform. There, they connect with peers from schools across the network worldwide, take part in challenges, competitions and collaborative projects, and learn from experts at world-leading institutions such as MIT, among others. In this way, Global Campus brings the wider Nord Anglia community into the classroom and beyond, every day.

Life Beyond The Classroom
The International College experience goes far beyond the classroom. Our outstanding sports facilities include a synthetic football and rugby pitch surrounded by an all-weather athletics track, multi-purpose courts for handball, basketball and volleyball, a synthetic hockey pitch and a fully equipped gym.
Our International Arena is at the heart of school life. It features an indoor court for basketball, volleyball and handball, along with stands where families can come to watch and cheer on our students.
Student life is further enriched through the arts, leadership and experiences outside the classroom. Every year, our students take to the stage in theatre productions held in the Arena, a space that also hosts school events and assemblies.
We have our own IC Band; a strong Model United Nations programme, with participation in national and international competitions; and The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, which challenges students to explore new environments, build independence and learn outdoors.

Houses That Foster a Sense of Belonging
Our House system strengthens students' sense of belonging and community spirit. We have four Houses — Aqua, Ignis, Terra and Ventus — inspired by the four elements and named in Latin. Every student joins a House when they start at the school and takes part in a wide range of activities and challenges throughout the year.
Sporting, academic, artistic and cultural competitions bring together students of different ages, fostering teamwork, leadership and friendships across year groups. The system creates opportunities to collaborate, celebrate achievements and build a shared identity within our community.

In one of his visits to Punta del Este, Clive was introduced to IC’s project. The connection he felt with our vision and the voices of our students inspired him to create our meaningful anthem.
