Pillars

Technology-Based Academics

Students of a digital native generation receive the methods and knowledge necessary to understand and integrate the various areas of learning, as well as the key skills to interpret a constantly evolving digital world.

To achieve these objectives, IC has a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, capable of supporting administrative tasks as well as pedagogical activities. Through these resources, IC is able to provide an increasingly personalized education that is attentive to the needs of each student.

The use of educational platforms and online programs facilitate different teaching and learning methods. Technological resources in our institution are permanently present, particularly in the classrooms through the use of devices such as electronic whiteboards, projectors, modern workstations, development software and its associated practical kits. We have a complete IT lab for use throughout Primary and Secondary, always under the guidance of a teacher facilitator.

Art

Art is one of the three pillars of International College, which seeks to develop creative thinking, aesthetic and formal sensitivity, as well as to provide the opportunity to learn about other cultures and to express oneself naturally and fluently.

Art is a language that will make the child manifest itself through different elements and it will be creativity, innovation and imagination that will play the most important role in this process.

We work not only in the visual arts, but also in design, music, singing and dance in a curricular and extracurricular way.

At Early Years the simplest concepts are introduced, as a basis for artistic knowledge, through the subjects Arts, Music and Body Expression. The objective is for students to express all their creativity as it is essential for their integral development.

At Primarystudents delve deeper into Music, Choir, Drama and Arts, where the work is more conscious and not as intuitive as it is in Early Years. Different techniques are developed, working on authors and artistic references in history. The idea is to accompany the child in his development, that in contact with the different artistic disciplines, discover his potential.

During each of the years of Secondarystudents take artistic subjects such as Visual Expression, Plastic Arts and Drawing, Sound Education, Corporal Expression, Musical Expression, Art and Visual Communication. During these years, skills are developed to a higher level, perfecting techniques and talents. Upon reaching Y11, students have as an option, in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, Visual Arts and/or Theater, in addition to other disciplines.

Art Expo

The Art Expo is the annual event where Early Years, Primary and Secondary students show their artwork from throughout the year to our school community. It is an occasion where the expressiveness and creativity of each one is allowed to flow, and we can appreciate the process of creation.

Attendees have described the exhibition as: "Beautiful pieces of work, displayed in a creative way. One can feel the warmth and human warmth visiting the exhibition".

Sports

Year after year, and progressively, IC carries out recreational and competitive activities where students represent our institution in different sports. There are more than 25 instances in which Primary and Secondary students participate, as well as national and international institutions.

Students are encouraged to feel a sense of belonging to the IC community, inspired by the educational pillars of the institution in order to achieve the sporting objectives set.

The practice of sports as an educational tool and physical exercise is based on the fulfillment of an activity that instills the values of companionship, diversity, solidarity and teamwork, on and off the playing field, and promotes good habits, from sports initiation to higher levels of competition. At the same time, it allows students to know and value their bodies, explore and enjoy their motor skills and learn to organize their free time.

Through sports, students learn the importance of respect and perseverance, increase self-confidence, reflection and adopt healthy measures for life.

In 2018 we created a competitive athletics squad, where we have participated in various competitions, such as the National Sports Games, managing to place our students on the podium.

Since 2019 we have been participating in the Intercollegiate High School Handball League, with a large team and great achievements. In the same year, and together with other schools and sports schools, we created a soccer tournament, which continues to improve and adding new institutions to participate with their different categories.

We are currently in the process of creating a Basketball tournament, open to schools and sports schools. A pilot plan was carried out in 2019 with four participating institutions, which was a great success.
